FIRST Robotics Competition

The Wave Robotics Team is one of thousands of FIRST Robotics Competition teams around the world.

The FIRST Robotics Challenge, or FRC is another branch of the FIRST Trilogy, as is Lego League.

FRC incorporates high school students, mentors from businesses from around the community, and a challenge given out at the beginning of the year.

After the challenge is given in the beginning of January, the students and mentors have 6 weeks to plan and create a robot. When the 6 weeks are up, the robots get shipped to the regional(s) that the team is competing in.

If the team qualifies, there is a world-wide competition in Atlanta, Georgia. After the competitions, you have an off-season that lasts until the next challenge is given out in January. To learn more about FRC, visit the First Robotics Competition site.
